As a key ingredient in cartilage, Glucosamine plays an important role in good joint health.* Studies indicate that Glucosamine provides the building blocks for constructing cartilage.* This Glucosamine is derived from corn rather than shellfish or other animals. Therefore it is Vegetarian/Vegan safe.

Why  Glucosamine HCl? , read below:

Glucosamine HCL vs Glucosamine Sulphate:

Stability: Glucosamine and glucosamine sulphate degrade easily, especially if damp. To try to overcome this manufacturers add either sodium or potassium chloride, in addition to the sulphate. This means that over two fifths (40%) of its weight may be made up of additives. To prevent further destruction, vitamin C can be added as a preservative and calcium carbonate as a desiccant. Some glucosamine sulphate preparations claim to be salt free when in fact they are actually SODIUM free. They still contain up to 25% potassium chloride. If they did not, they would degrade rapidly into a black mush. On the other hand glucosamine hydrochloride is naturally stable and requires no added salt or other preservatives.

Purity: Pure glucosamine sulphate can have as little as 59% 'active' glucosamine because of the chemically added sulphate and salt, whilst pure Glucosamine hydrochloride has up to 88%. DEVA Vegan Glucosamine hydrochloride  mg for mg, can contain up to a third more active glucosamine.

Where does glucosamine come from? Glucosamine sulphate is manufactured from glucosamine hydrochloride. Glucosamine hydrochloride can be obtained from any source of cartilage, commonly beef, chicken, pig, shark, clams, shrimp or even whale. Chondroitin can also obtained from these sources, and there are no plant altematives. DEVA Nutrition has specifically chosen an alternative source : corn,  thus making its glucosamine 100%  animal-free.

Why choose DEVA's Glucosamine hydrochloride? Glucosamine is readily absorbed by the body and into cartilage. Glucosamine sulphate is converted by stomach acid into the hydrochloride before absorption. Scientific research has shown that glucosamine hydrochloride is used by cartilage . A true mg to mg comparison shows that the hydrochloride provides more glucosamine than the sulphate salt and this may be the reason why some people prefer to choose glucosamine hydrochloride.

MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a natural and efficient source of organic sulfur, which is necessary for the formation of collagen, and is required by many of the body's structural molecules. MSM has been shown to be essential to joint health and function, and for all types of connective tissue in general*

CMO (Cetyl Myristoleate) helps joint problems by lubricating, reducing inflammation, regulating the immune system, and reducing pain.* A natural anti-inflammatory, patented for arthritis treatment, CMO used is derived from plant sources  rather than the usual beef tallow*.

This Vegan Glucosamine-MSM-CMO product is perfect for senior citizens, weekend athletes, arthritis sufferers or anyone desiring extra nutritional support for cartilage and joints.*

DEVA Glucosamine-MSM-CMO  is 100% vegan, vegetarian and is certified by the Vegan Society, the non-profit organization that actually invented the word "vegan". It is the only 100% vegan product in the world that combines Glucosamine, MSM and CMO all in one tablet for healthy joints*.
